It’s Demo Day! So in preparation, I watched a few DIY videos for removing old wood paneling. Removed all the trim. Got out my crowbar and went to poppin’ the panels off. I have to say that the wood paneling came down faster than expected. Of course, I didn’t realize to after the fact, that every small finishing nail would remain and I would have to pull each and every one out.
Then the ceiling. The tiles were made of some kind of press cardboard. Turns out one of the four sides is stapled to the ceiling and the rest kind of “click” together. Started pulling a few down, and before I knew it 4-6 of them pulled off in rows. The crappy thing was a row of heavy duty staples every 12 inches (that would have to be pulled out by hand with pliers).
So at then end of day one, I have removed all the ceiling tiles and all of the paneling, and just about all the finishing nails… Here’s a few pics from the end of the day.
